Accounting Manager

In partnership with a local client of ours, J. Morrissey is recruiting for an Accounting Manager to help lead our client's accounting team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting process such as managing reporting, ensuring compliance, process improvement, and forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Present financial reports to senior management, offering insights into metrics and trends and identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist in leading a company-wide reconciliation project
- Lead and mentor a small team of accountants
- Work closely with department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts.
- Supervise the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Collaborate with billing and revenue cycle teams to optimize accounts receivable processes.
- Coordinate and manage audits, working closely with auditors to provide required documentation and address audit findings.
- Continuously assess and improve accounting processes, leveraging technology and industry best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in the accounting field, with 1-2 years as a manager
- Proficiency in Kariba banking software is a plus
- Advanced MS Excel skills
