Job Description

Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist 
Cromwell, CT

J. Morrissey is partnering with a local organization to find an experienced Payroll and Accounts Payable Coordinator. This role supports the business office by ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, managing accounts payable, and maintaining employee records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient in QuickBooks, and comfortable handling both payroll and accounting functions.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and review employee timesheets for accuracy
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
  • Set up new employees in payroll and benefits systems
  • Maintain and administer employee retirement plans
  • Enter and track invoices in QuickBooks
  • Generate, review, and mail checks for accounts payable
  • Assist with financial reporting and reconciliations as needed

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll and accounts payable
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of any payroll processing software

Salary/Benefits

$52k - $55k/yr
