Accounts Payable Accountant - Part time
Job Description
West Hartford, CT (on-site)
Contract to hire
$25-32/hr, depending on experience
Responsible for managing daily cash flow, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations across multiple entities. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, proficiency in Excel, and experience with cash management and accounts payable systems.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile daily bank vs. book cash balances and maintain cash flow spreadsheets
- Monitor bank websites to verify balances, transactions, and cleared checks
- Prepare and send daily cash flow and balance reports to the CFO and CEO
- Transfer funds between bank accounts as needed
- Manage and fund debit card accounts through online banking systems
- Reconcile 17 bank accounts monthly
- Process, code, and post invoices across six companies
- Issue weekly vendor payments and maintain accounts payable filing systems
- Manage security deposits for multiple facilities
- Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies
- Collaborate regularly with the CFO and CEO regarding cash status and accounts payable
- Associate's degree (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable and cash management
- Proficiency in Excel
- Experience with Meditech or similar medical accounting systems
- Familiarity with online banking systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
