Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Enfield, CT (fully on-site)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Compensation: $27–31/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team in a multi-entity environment. This is a high-volume, detail-oriented role in a fast-paced environment where organization, accuracy, and follow-through are essential.
Responsibilities
- Review, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring accurate general ledger coding.
- Allocate expenses to the appropriate company, department, and location across multiple entities.
- Coordinate invoice approvals with department directors and company ownership.
- Follow up with vendors and internal departments to obtain invoices and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process weekly check runs.
- Maintain organized physical and electronic invoice records.
- Utilize Excel to track invoice status, payment activity, and reporting.
- Work closely with Operations, Accounting, and company leadership to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
- Support ongoing improvements as the organization transitions portions of its AP workflow to an automated invoice approval process.
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; Associate's degree required.
- 2+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience.
- Solid understanding of general ledger coding.
- Experience working with multiple entities, divisions, or locations is preferred.
