Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Description
Hourly Rate: $22-27/hr, depending on experience
Location: Fully on-site in Manchester, CT
Type: Contract to hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
The Cost Analyst will analyze expenses and cost transactions to ensure accurate recording of materials, labor, outside services, and shipping charges.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiently.
- Navigate accounting software and maintain various tracking systems.
- Ensure accurate coding of invoices to applicable jobs.
- Analyze costs and research discrepancies.
- Verify and close purchase orders prior to job completion.
- Examine timesheets, production reports, and shipping records for accuracy.
- Coordinate with Inventory Manager for raw materials usage posting.
- Elevate issues to management as needed.
- Identify workflow constraints and assist in continuous improvement.
- Maintain proper month and year-end cutoff.
- Provide ad hoc reports and reconciliations to management.
- Protect organizational values by maintaining confidentiality
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable
- High School Diploma required, higher education preferred
