Assistant Controller
Job Description
Meriden, CT (hybrid)
$120-140k, based on experience
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys leading a small team while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day accounting function. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Manufacturing accounting experience is required
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, providing guidance and support while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Partner with operations and leadership to support business growth, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Support audits and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial initiatives as needed.
