GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Benefits Manager utilizes knowledge and skills obtained through education, training and/or experience to manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefit plans and leave management processes for the organization. Leads the Benefits team and assists with a variety of departmental tasks as needed. This role resolves most issues independently, using critical judgement skills with elevated matters being referred to the AVP. This role is responsible for frequently monitoring legislative updates and market trends to ensure that the employee benefits programs are legally compliant and competitive within our industry. The benefits manager is required to be a subject matter expert in employee benefits management and leave management processes, so they can be fully prepared to answer employees’ and leadership inquiries.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manages the overall benefit and leave administration processes for 2400+ employees including but not limited to health and welfare plans, 403b/457b retirement plans, FSA accounts, LTD, Life Insurance, HRA Assistance Programs, Deduction Registers, Voluntary benefit offerings. Promptly responds to all employee questions regarding benefit policies and procedures and ensures required legal documents are supplied within appropriate timeframes as life events occur. Ensures all benefit and leave programs and policies & procedures comply with current legislation. Responsible for oversight of benefit plan audits, and employee deductions in HRIS system. Assists in the administration of COBRA with TPA. Responsible for reviewing and approving weekly HRA funding requests. Responsible for annual open enrollment processes, including but not limited to drafting email announcements, fields employee questions by phone and email, conducts in-person and virtual open enrollment meetings, organizes annual health and benefits fair, ensures adequate staffing levels are in place to handle volume, educates staff on plan options and cost implications. Works with executive leadership on plan design and cost analysis.
Salary depending on Experience 60k - 80k plus benefits
