Bookkeeper position in Chicopee

Job description Immediate opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper to provide various administrative and personal assistant support to an elderly retired executive in the running of his home office located in Chicopee, MA
The position offers autonomy and a combination of activities with a flexible part-time schedule including both onsite and remote work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage the executive's home office serving as administrator, bookkeeper, secretary, and receptionist. • Perform all bookkeeping duties as required to manage business and personal finances. • Proactively carries out a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, including investment and financial record keeping, banking, investment transactions, managing correspondence, bill payments, and creation of correspondence and communications. • Handles confidential documents on a regular basis. Manages and maintains documentation in various locations. • Schedule and organize itineraries and travel arrangements. • Supports the executive when he is in town and traveling by taking instructions and following up on actions to be performed. • Reviews outgoing materials and correspondence for accuracy and consistency. • Assists executive with technology. • Performs other administrative duties as required

Experience & Qualifications: • High school diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred)
• Minimum 3-5 years of administrative, bookkeeping, and related experience with references to support the following:
• Proficient in the use of QB & Microsoft suite
. • Ability to work independently prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
• Good judgment, discretion, and capability to absolutely maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Organizational and time management skills, follow up, with attention to detail.

Qualifications • Interpersonal skills and patience. The ability to interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds and thoughts, especially elderly people who may often require increased degrees of patience and empathy
. • Professional tone and demeanor. About this position The executive is the former president of a manufacturing and importing firm with strong ties to the Springfield community. Retired and actively managing a private equity home office. Involved in community and charitable activities. The successful candidate will be replacing a long-time secretary/personal assistant/bookkeeper who is preparing for full retirement.
