Greenfield area Family Medicine practice is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant or a Registered Medical Assistant to work with physicians, rooming patients, vital signs, immunizations, documentation and more.

This position is Monday thru Friday 8 - 5: 30

No weekends or Holidays

Must be able to obtain documentation of the following immunizations within 2 weeks

2- MMR

2- Varicella

Tdap within the last 10 years

2- current PPD' s

3- Hep B injections

Current Flu shot

Letter from your physician stating you are free and clear to work with no restrictions

Must be able to provide proof of CMA/RMA and CPR certifications

The client also requires a background check and Drug testing.

Responsibilities and Duties

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES (may include, but not limited to):
  • Using computer applications
  • Answering telephones
  • Greeting patients, manage patient flow
  • Scheduling appointments, including rescheduling and reconfirming
  • Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
  • Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants
  • Updating and filing patient medical records
  • Coding and filling out insurance forms
  • Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services
  • Handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required

Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)

CLINICAL DUTIES (may include, but not limited to):
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’ s chart
  • Taking medical histories
  • Explaining treatment procedures to patients
  • Preparing patients for examination
  • Assisting the physician during exams
  • Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
  • Performing basic laboratory tests
  • Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician
  • Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant
  • Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms
  • Authorizing prescription refills as directed
  • Draw blood
  • Take electrocardiograms
  • Remove sutures and changing dressings
  • Instruct patients about medication and special diets

Give other instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant

Qualifications and Skills

  • Healthcare field and medical specialty • Medical terminology • Grammar, spelling, and punctuation • Knowledge of EHRs (if applicable)


• Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow • The ability to perform phlebotomy, administer injections, perform specific tests (EKGs, Urinalysis, etc.)
