Job Description

In partnership with a reputable local client, J. Morrissey & Co. is in the search for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to manage all accounting and operations. This is a very important role with a well-respected and mid-sized local firm.
The ideal candidate is a strong Controller who is ready to take the next step up in their career into a CFO role - must show progressive experience in professional services industry.

  • Work directly alongside firm executives to oversee financial activities
  • Serve as a leader within the firm through planning and implementing systems and procedures to drive success and meet goals
  • Manage day to day financial activities while planning for future company success
  • Supervise accounting team
  • Synthesize and analyze financial data and metrics to help carry out and meet financial goals
  • Financial reporting
  • Communicate with external parties – CPA, staffing firms, payroll, etc.
  • Leverage present and future profitability through using leading and lagging metrics to assist in financial decisions
  • Preparing financial statements – P&L, variance analyses, WIPs, etc.
  • Design and execute financial initiatives, actively monitoring effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
  • 7+ years of experience managing finances of a professional services firm
  • Experience supervising a team
  • Proven track of designing and implementing successful financial plans and systems

Compensation and benefits
  • $130-155k, depending on experience

Morrissey, Jake worked at Glastonbury Hills Country Club, where he used his strong work ethic and passion for building relationships to develop his skills in communication and customer service. Jake is excited to be involved with a company that enables him to assist other people in finding their passions.

 Jake is a 2021 graduate from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Human Resources as well as a minor in Psychology.
