Cook / Per Diem - Dietary Services Coordinator – Tewksbury, MA Start Dates Available: July 13 or July 27
Schedule: Full-Time (40 Hours) or 32 Hours/Week
Shift: Days – Temporary  Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and dependable Per Diem Cook / Dietary Services Coordinator to join our team in a behavioral health setting. This individual will prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals, maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, and support the dietary needs of residents while promoting dignity, wellness, and recovery. Orientation & Training
  • 4 Days of Training
  • Training shifts begin at 6:30 AM
  • Then On Call - Work when you can!
Schedule Options Position is Per Diem - Work when available

Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare healthy, appetizing meals and snacks that meet USDA nutritional requirements.
  • Follow established weekly menus and meal schedules.
  • Ensure proper food temperature, taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Inspect food quality and quantity prior to serving.
  • Transport food while maintaining quality standards.
  • Prepare meals for special events and holidays.
  • Take measures to minimize food waste.
  • Open and close the kitchen and ensure food is stored properly.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to all sanitation standards and local Board of Health regulations.
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining food and kitchen supplies in collaboration with the Program Director.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with food vendors and suppliers.
  • Attend regular supervision meetings and communicate effectively with leadership.
  • Provide services in a respectful and compassionate manner to individuals receiving substance abuse treatment.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three years of food service or cooking experience required.
  • Experience in healthcare, residential, institutional, or behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and menu planning in an institutional environment.
  • Current food safety certifications preferred, including:
    • ServSafe Certification
    • Allergy Awareness Certification
    • Other required health documentation as applicable
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals recovering from substance use disorders.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and willingness to work within a diverse and multicultural environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to quality and sanitation standards.
