In partnership with a local client, J. Morrissey is seeking an experienced and relationship-focused employee with strong knowledge of company finance, particularly in the finance industry.
With this unique opportunity, you will have the opportunity collaborate with Connecticut’s non-profit community and provide financial support through offering several unique financial programs. You will be responsible for the entire grant life cycle from application review through approval and maintenance.
The successful candidate in this role will thrive in building relationships with local non-profits and financial institutions and be comfortable with presenting plans to clients and board members.
A thorough understanding of nonprofit operations from a finance perspective is critical to success in this role.
This is NOT a sales position – no commission or cold calling.
Main Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with CT’s non-profits and identify areas of financial need; evaluate needs to determine best financing approach and present options to clients
- Ensure eligibility for client participation through assessing financial health (statement review, debt analysis) and risk.
- Manage daily administration of grant, loan, and bond programs. This includes managing program design, applications, approvals, compliance, and consistent monitoring of borrower’s activities and reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years in a financial institution, nonprofit, or grant-making organization.
- 5-10 years in the non-profit industry
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proven ability to create and maintain strong professional relationships.
