HVAC Technician
Job Description
$18-22/hr, depending on experience
Contract, potential for permanent hire
Springfield, MA
Responsibilities
• Preventative Maintenance such as routine inspections, cleaning, and maintenance on HVAC systems including filters, coils, motors, belts, and condensate drains to prevent breakdowns and maximize efficiency.
• Troubleshooting and Repair - Diagnose and repair malfunctions on a variety of HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, air handlers, rooftop units, and fan coils, including electrical and control system issues.
• System Installations and Upgrades - Assist with the installation of new HVAC systems or components, including pipefitting, wiring, and refrigerant charging, as needed for renovations or building expansions.
• Documentation and Reporting - Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs, parts used, and system performance data, adhering to established documentation procedures.
• Compliance - Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, including EPA refrigerant handling guidelines.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of HVAC experience, commercial setting preferred
- Valid EPA Universal Certification.
- Technical Skills - Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems, including knowledge of various HVAC controls and building automation systems.
- Physical Requirements - Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work in various weather conditions.
