Human Resources Assistant - Payroll and Benefits
$20-23/ hr, depending on experience
Fully on site in Wethersfield, CT
Contract to hire

In partnership with our client, we are recruiting for a motivated candidate to join the HR team and assist with payroll and benefits related functions. Using ADP, the HR Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of payroll and benefits functions. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring and motivated HR professional to gain valuable experience.

  • Enter and track employee data in ADP - wages, deductions, tax withholdings, and personal employee information
  • Enroll new hires into payroll system and provide training on timekeeping process
  • Serve as a point person for payroll and benefits related inquiries
  • Track employee eligibility for insurance and 401k benefits yearly
  • Pull payroll and benefits reports for the accounting team
  • Administer and review new hire paperwork
  • Assist with HR related projects
  • Other responsibilities as needed
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field
  • HR internship is strongly preferred
  • Experience with ADP strongly preferred
  • Motivation to learn and grow as an HR professional

Prior to joining J. Morrissey, Jake worked at Glastonbury Hills Country Club, where he used his strong work ethic and passion for building relationships to develop his skills in communication and customer service. Jake is excited to be involved with a company that enables him to assist other people in finding their passions.

 Jake is a 2021 graduate from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Human Resources as well as a minor in Psychology.
