IT Project Manager
Job Description
Our client in Fairfield County is expanding their IT PMO and seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively on projects involving SAP, an S/4HANA upgrade, and other critical business systems.
Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000 + benefits
Location: Trumbull, CT, hybrid schedule 3 days in office, 2 remote – on-site for the first 90 days
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business and project teams to define strategies, requirements, and functional specifications that align with business goals and project standards.
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing and implementing integrated business processes and project deliverables, ensuring quality, productivity, and consistency.
- Oversee the creation, review, and negotiation of Statements of Work (SOWs) and contracts, aligning scope and budget while collaborating with vendors and procurement.
- Manage multiple complex, high-visibility projects — including plans, communications, reporting, and contractual activities — with strong focus on timelines, risk, and stakeholder alignment.
- Monitor project progress using metrics and controls, take corrective actions when needed, and assess cost-benefit trade-offs to make recommendations to senior leadership.
- Maintain effective communication with project teams, business management, and stakeholders through clear status updates, vision alignment, and regular meetings.
- Apply proven techniques in budgeting, planning, scheduling, change control, and risk management to ensure successful project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, MIS
- 6 years of IT project management experience leading large-scale, complex, and highly integrated initiatives.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing SAP projects (S/4HANA, ECC) across key modules such as FI/CO, MM, and SD.
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related discipline; PMP certification preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, business units, and external vendors.
- Proactive, detail-oriented self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated success partnering with third-party service providers and maintaining a strong customer service focus.
- Experience within the utility industry is a plus.
