Contract employment (potentially contract to hire for the right candidate)
J. Morrissey seeks a dedicated Groundskeeper/Janitor for exterior maintenance and occasional indoor tasks.
** 1+ year of maintenance and exterior grounds keeping experience is required **
Responsibilities:
- Pick up trash, trim shrubs, rake leaves, and remove debris.
- Keep walkways, parking areas, and outdoor spaces clean and safe.
- Perform seasonal tasks like snow removal and leaf blowing.
- Empty trash and restock restrooms.
- Clean common areas: hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, lobbies.
- Replace light bulbs and smoke detector batteries.
- Assist with apartment turnover cleaning.
- Report major repair needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in grounds keeping, landscaping, or maintenance work required.
- Basic maintenance knowledge.
- Ability to operate grounds keeping equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and independence.
- Good physical condition; ability to lift heavy objects.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Primarily outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Indoor work as well.
