Junior Accountant
Pay Rate: $25.75 per hour
Location: East Hartford, CT
Type: Temp-to-hire (Start at 24 hours/week; potential for 40 hours/week and permanent hire)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our client's Finance Department. This role starts at 24 hours per week with a flexible schedule. If successful, the position can increase to 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm) and transition to a permanent role.
Responsibilities
- Process biweekly payroll and handle payroll inquiries.
- Manage accounts payable, including coding and entering invoices, and processing payments.
- Record cash receipts and post journal entries.
- Assist with monthly reconciliations, financial reports, and grant preparation.
- Track fixed assets and prepare statistical reports.
- Support year-end audits and budget preparations.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Abila MIP).
- Strong math skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
