  • Coordinate staffing resources.  Input department shift schedule, coordinates master vacation staffing schedule with Nurse Manager/or Director.  Creates daily/weekly, weekend, holiday staffing sheets in schedules 6 weeks of time released at a time.

  • Maintain Kronos data entry.  Records vacation, holiday and other time off requests in scheduling system.  Maintain sick bank information as defined through scheduling system to handle organization of attendance and tardy discipline action.

  • Maintain all  information such as creating job openings, posting job openings and processing new hires and transfers through the system.

  • Assists in gathering data/information and preparing administrative reports, statements and spreadsheets as directed.  Performs data and/or information gathering in an efficient and effective manner.  Drafts and prepares reports, analyses and spreadsheets in accordance with established department format.

  • Maintains and revises record-keeping filing system. Sorts and files correspondence, articles, records and other documents.  Maintains department record keeping and filing systems.  Ensures all files are updated and purged on an ongoing basis.

  • Assist manager with understanding and maintaining salary budget by keeping expenses and overtime costs tracked.

What will you need for this role?
  • Minimally Required: High school diploma/ GED
  • Preferred: Associate' s Degree
  • Be proficient/exemplary  with excel spreadsheets
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in Human Resources related field. Prior experience working with scheduling and staffing plans for high volume areas. 
  • Strong organizational skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Analytical thinking
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to prioritize workload.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Melissa Cartier is an Account Manager in our J. Morrissey Springfield Office. Melissa has been with J.Morrissey for over 3 years and brings to us several years of career services and counseling experience. Melissa works with large and small companies in the Springfield area, and is responsible for managing new and current clients as well as recruiting and onboarding temporary candidates for temporary positions. 

Prior to joining J. Morrissey, Melissa was the Director of Career Services at Premier Education Group where she performed various career development functions and achieved company benchmark placement rates. Melissa started her career as a Certified Medical Assistant, which has provided her with valuable insights into the healthcare industry and has helped her form strong connections with her clients and candidates.

In addition to her passion for recruiting and building relationships, Melissa volunteers her time public speaking in schools where she delivers presentations on career development and growth. Melissa also belongs to the Chicopee Chamber of Commerce. Her industry knowledge, commitment to quality service, and enthusiasm for people make her an invaluable member of the J. Morrissey team.
