About The Opportunity
In partnership with our client, a highly regarded law firm, J. Morrissey is actively in the search of an experienced Legal Billing Specialist. This person will own the billing function from start to finish. This is a fast paced position that requires world-class client service skills as you will be working closely with attorneys and clients. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a tenured team and lead the billing function for the firm. This is a fully on-site position, no remote capabilities offered at this time.
Highlight of Responsibilities
Maintain a thorough knowledge of client specific protocols and procedures for e-billing and ensure compliance with special billing arrangements.
Act as liaison with clients using e-billing and ensure system is appropriately setup.
Process e-bills
Manage new client and/or new vendor onboarding for electronic billing.
Creation of new matters. o Identify any required reporting for budgets, alternate fee arrangements and accrual requests.
Review time entries based on client and matter requirements (block billing, task codes, summer associate time, etc.).
Review cost entries for compliance and make Billing Attorney aware of any issues.
Submit new timekeeper approvals for billed clients and contact clients regarding new matters or other e-billing system requirements. Monitor e-bill submissions, manage and assist Billing Attorney with resolution of any rejections.
Requirements
Associates Degree or higher preferred
5+ years of legal billing experience required, E-Billing
Superior customer service skills
Knowledge of legal billing platforms required
Salary/Benefits
$70k - $80k (DOE)
