Linux Systems Administrator II (Remote - Northeast)

Join a forward-thinking and growing organization as the Systems Administrator working heavily within the Linux infrastructure. Compensation: Salary range of 90-105K with a strong benefits package (generous PTO, 401k matching and vesting)

Remote position with travel to DR site/data center (both located in Northeast), includes 1-2 days of on site work per visit

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Assist with the planning, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Linux infrastructure ensuring that all enterprise hardware is current
  • Be responsible for routine updates and security by running all needed diagnostics
  • Configure and install the Linux OS networks, all custom applications and any related peripherals
  • Perform health checks on the Linux and cloud infrastructure on a daily/weekly/monthly schedule
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to complex system applications
  • Take part in DR testing and document all system applications set ups and new deployments

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or any related field
  • 2-5 years of hands-on IT troubleshooting experience in a corporate environment
  • Strong knowledge of the Linux operating system required
  • Working knowledge of NFS Exports, Samba, DHCP, DNS, and SCSI devices
  • Experience with VMware vSphere, Shell scripting, and python or Perl a strong plus
  • Prior experience with Ansible Tower, containers and or Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab CI), Terraform or Ansible
  • Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Cloud experience, Google, AWS, Azure desired
  • Cisco UCS hardware experience
