Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: Negotiable based on experience
Position Overview
J. Morrissey is seeking an experienced and certified Medical Coder for a healthcare organization in Middletown, CT. The ideal candidate will have strong hospital billing experience and a solid understanding of medical coding, insurance processes, prior authorizations, and collections.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate medical coding and ensure proper documentation and billing
- Review medical records and assign appropriate codes
- Work with hospital billing processes and insurance requirements
- Assist with prior authorization processes
- Follow up on outstanding balances and collection activities
- Review claims for accuracy and resolve billing discrepancies
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and internal departments as needed
- Maintain compliance with applicable coding and billing guidelines
- Support the revenue cycle process and identify potential billing issues
- CPC Required
- Previous hospital billing experience required
- Experience with medical coding and healthcare reimbursement
- Familiarity with prior authorizations and collections
- Strong understanding of insurance and billing processes
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong computer and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Coder looking for a temp-to-hire or potential direct-hire position with a Monday–Friday schedule and a negotiable pay rate based on experience and qualifications.
