NICU Nurse Manager (RN) – Acute Care – Full-Time Position Summary: The NICU Nurse Manager ensures high-quality, patient-centered care through leadership, oversight, and coordination of the daily operations and staffing within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role is responsible for maintaining excellence in clinical practice, patient outcomes, staff engagement, and adherence to organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Quality • Promotes a superior clinical identity by implementing evidence-based practices that enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Ensures adherence to standards of care and supports efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice.
• Monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care to ensure alignment with policies, procedures, and patient needs.
• Oversees compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and facility standards, including equipment maintenance.
• Supports achievement of internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations. Patient Experience & Care Coordination • Manages admissions, transfers, and discharges to promote efficient patient throughput and continuity of care.
• Fosters interdisciplinary collaboration within and across departments to ensure optimal care coordination.
• Provides leadership in achieving an unparalleled patient experience, ensuring consistent, compassionate interactions.
• Utilizes feedback mechanisms to identify improvement opportunities and implements strategies to enhance patient satisfaction. Team Leadership & Development • Leads with integrity and alignment to the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
• Builds and sustains a culture of accountability, transparency, and teamwork.
• Identifies and addresses training needs; provides coaching, feedback, and mentoring to enhance staff performance.
• Attracts, develops, and retains top talent, ensuring appropriate staffing and skill mix to meet patient care needs.
• Addresses and resolves employee concerns following established procedures. Operational & Financial Management • Manages staff scheduling and resource allocation in accordance with productivity and patient care standards.
• Oversees operational expenses, ensuring responsible utilization of supplies and equipment.
• Identifies and executes cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality of care.
• Positively represents the organization in community and patient events. Qualifications
• Education: Registered Nurse Diploma (BSN preferred)
• Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience:
  - Minimum 4+ years of staff-level NICU RN experience
  - Minimum 2+ years of recent (within the last year) acute care leadership experience in the NICU
• Certifications:
  - Basic Life Support (BLS) – required within 30 days of hire
  - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required within 6 months of hire
