J. Morrissey is seeking a reliable and experienced Ophthalmic Technician to provide short-term coverage for a busy ophthalmology practice in West Hartford, CT. This full-time temporary opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced clinical environment and delivering exceptional patient care.

- Full-time
- Monday-Friday
- Day shift
- Prepare patients for examination by obtaining medical and ocular histories.
- Perform preliminary ophthalmic testing, including visual acuity, intraocular pressure, refraction assistance, and other diagnostic testing as directed.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor in-office procedures.
- Administer eye drops, medications, and other treatments as instructed.
- Document patient information accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Clean, maintain, and calibrate ophthalmic equipment.
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care.
- Maintain exam rooms and ensure adherence to infection control standards.
- Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician required.
- Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a busy outpatient setting.
- EMR experience preferred.
- Certification (COA, COT, or COMT) preferred but not required.
