Job Description

The function of the Payroll Associate III is to assist with the processing of paychecks for the entire health system and to serve in a customer service function to resolve any issues related to paychecks and direct deposits. All work is expected to be completely in a timely manner and with strict deadlines in order to make sure paychecks are distributed every other Thursday. A high level of quality customer service is required in order to resolve any issues and answer any questions from employees regarding their paychecks. Assist in ensuring accurate and timely production of the payroll functions; oversee and participate in the review, verification, auditing and processing of payroll forms, records and documents Participate in complex payroll support functions; calculate, review, verify and post a variety of complex payroll data such as gross pay, contract adjustments, retroactive payments, hours, tax information and leave; balance, reconcile and submit payrolls for check processing. In addition, this position encompasses all reporting and distribution that is included with the payroll function. Perform complex and highly specialized payroll calculations and support functions. Monitor, audit, adjust and reconcile payroll data. Oversee the input, coding and adjustment of time sheet information. Interpret, apply and explain codes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Work confidentially and with discretion. Work independently with little direction.


Job Responsibilities:
1) Review Kronos time cards to ensure paychecks are generated and make adjustments to time cards as needed.
2) Perform on-line edit review for the assigned group of employees as a result of the Kronos interface to Workday.
3) Prepare and submit biweekly payroll taxes to government agencies and prepare quarterly tax returns.
4) Run biweekly, monthly, and quarterly processing jobs, including full payroll process on Tuesdays.
5) Process employee transactions utilizing Workday,Kronos and PeopleSoft, as well as other systems as needed.
6) Process off cycle and supplemental paychecks as needed.
7) Provide assistance to Kronos users and Workday Self Service users when they have questions.
8) Assist with Auditing Payroll and Retro in Workday.
9) Communicates effectively with subordinates, peers, management and customers.
10) Verify the accuracy of the payroll as a result of running Payroll Workday edits.
11) Research accounting issues.
12) Prepare various reconciliations and check requests for Accounts Payable.
13) Prepare Garnishments Pay withholding orders and submit biweekly.
14) System Rapid pay card.
15) VOE, Buy backs and Subpoenas.
16) E-SarFs.
17) Cash Pro Bank Of America.

Required Work Experience:
1) 2+ years payroll experience

Preferred Work Experience:
1) 4 years

Skills and Competencies:
1) General understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer/Google chrome)
2) Workday Experience a Plus
3) PeopleSoft experience a plus
4) Kronos experience a plus
5) Strong customer service skills
6) Strong ability to work in a team environment as well as complete tasks alone

The position is hybrid, Currently I only require 1 day per month (first Wednesday typically) in the office but during the first 90 days at least half would be in the office.
