Clinical Administrative Manager - Pedi Rehab 7-4
Job Description
The Nurse Manager will oversee the safety, workflow, and optimal patient delivery for a 25 Bed Infant to Adolescent inpatient complex medical unit.
As a member of the leadership team, you will work collaboratively to meet the established regulatory requirements and organizational goals.
- Assist with staffing, scheduling and time attendance with staff coordinator and works collaboratively with the Nurse Education Team to ensure training and onboarding are being utilized appropriately for the unit.
- As a Leader, manages staff performance and mentor’s nurses and other staff with a professional courteous manner.
- Human Resources and Personnel responsibilities include performance evaluations, promoting professional development, retention ideas and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Additional responsibilities will include evaluation of department performance, fiscal performance and evaluation of patient outcomes.
- Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including medical directors, social workers, case managers, allied health and quality assurance team members.
- Additionally, the unit has multiple resources that are assigned to assist in daily administration and operational functions.
- Acts as the resource to family members, outside resources and engages in family meetings, and admissions team.
- Works with the clinical team to determine readiness of unit for new admissions and evaluation for readiness for discharge or transition to new unit or outpatient continuum of care.
- Prepares reports, uses electronic medical report software, and ensures staff are documenting appropriately and efficiently according to necessary guidelines.
- Participates in morning huddles, leadership team huddles, leadership meetings and committees.
- Registered Nurse Licensed in Connecticut with no restrictions
- Associates Degree, Bachelor preferred
- 5 Years Staffing Management within a Medical Unit
- Pediatric or adolescent population experience preferred but not necessary
- Nursing preceptor or training experience preferred
- Clinical Staff Performance, Hiring and monitoring staff schedule and time and attendance using Kronos or similar
- Ability to review budgets or fiscal information
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Records
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams such as PT, OT, ST, social work, Medical Directors, Charge Nurses, Staff Development Nurses, Quality Nursing and Safety committees.
- Acute Care preferred
- Mon-Fri 7-4 or 8-5
- 2 holidays a year/2 weekends a year voluntarily.
