Senior Cisco Network Engineer
Join a well established and growing Firm here in Connecticut. My client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join the team and work closely with top management on companywide initiatives! In this role you be able to complete projects A-Z and positivity impact the organization as a whole!
- Work on site and remote designing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring the various network related hardware and software in a Cisco environment
- Support LAN, WAN and work closely with vendors to co-maintain network firewalls
- Maintain strong knowledge of existing infrastructure, desktops, and computer systems and make recommendations for improvement
- Analyze and resolve issues related to the network environment, promptly responding to end users request while working with IT staff to provide the best solution
- Track and maintain all network related hardware and software while identifying new technologies and solutions that may benefit the firm
- Work on new installation projects, server hardware and application software upgrades
- Maintain strong awareness of industry trends and evaluate new products
- Implement updates and patches and create writing documentation on the current system design
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5 or more years working in a Cisco network environment, CATO networks is a plus
- CCNA, CCNP Certifications desired, Security+ is a plus
- Strong experience configuring and maintaining routers and switches in a Cisco environment
- Knowledge of Azure cloud networking, VPN Azure VNet/NSG, Cisco IOS, DNS, DHCP and Citrix NetScaler load balancers
- Cisco Meraki and VMWare experience strongly desired
- Strong knowledge of multiple operating systems and platform
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate both written and verbal with all levels of the organization
- Ability to occasionally work off hours to implement service affecting changes to the environment
