Software Support Engineer (Flexible Hybrid - Central CT)
Job Description
Our Client is a Connecticut-based niche marketing company that has been a leader in their space for over 25 years. They are experiencing growth in clientele and are scaling up their Software Support Engineer team. This role will serve as the bridge between the help desk and Sr engineering teams, troubleshooting software related issues. Salary range – 70 – 85K with a strong benefits package
Flexible hybrid schedule, Office located in Plainville CT area)
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the escalation point for the help desk team, remotely troubleshooting software solutions deployed at client locations nationally
- Collaborate with help desk and software engineering teams to communicate complex issues and find solutions
- Investigate, perform root cause analysis, and find trends in system issues
- Diagnose and find resolutions related to marketing content delivery, utilizing tools such as RabbitMQ, rsync, etc.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity problems utilizing network analyzer tools (Ping)
- Investigate issues related to hardware, barcode scanners, printers, video displays/audio
- Work with senior engineers to learn the environment - embedded Linux, Python, C++, Bash, scripting, JavaScript
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Development, IT, or related experience
- Prior experience troubleshooting and using analytical skills to solve issues
- Desire and willingness to learn new technologies (Python, Linux, C++, Scripting, Databases)
- Background working within a Linux environment, programming languages, and databases highly desired
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
