Job Title: Surgical Scheduler (Temporary – 6 Months)

Location: New Haven, CT
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Assignment Length: 6-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $28/hr
Position Overview
J. Morrissey is seeking an experienced Surgical Scheduler to support a busy hospital in New Haven. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and has strong experience coordinating operating room (OR) schedules.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage surgical schedules for 5–6 surgeons

Perform OR booking, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in case scheduling

Communicate with physicians, clinical staff, and patients to confirm procedures

Verify patient information, procedure details, and required documentation

Ensure all pre-operative requirements are met prior to scheduled procedures
-
Maintain and update schedules in real time, adjusting for changes as needed

Provide high-level administrative support within a surgical or hospital setting
Qualifications

Prior experience as a Surgical Scheduler or in a similar healthcare scheduling role

Strong knowledge of operating room (OR) booking procedures

Experience scheduling for multiple providers (5+ preferred)

Familiarity with Epic (highly preferred)

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
