Virtual Desktop Engineer - Hybrid

Job Description
Our client has been recognized as a CT top work place consecutively and promotes a growth centric and collaborative work environment. They are seeking a skilled Engineer with VDI experience to add to their growing infrastructure team.
Flexible hybrid schedule, office located in the Glastonbury CT area
Salary range, 80 – 105K with an excellent benefits package
Duties and responsibilities:
- Be responsible for maintaining and supporting the VMware Horizon VDI environment including GPO and Windows 10/11 client imaging
- Install and maintain the MS Windows operation system network, customized applications, and related peripherals
- Participate in user account setup, change, deletion, group changes, virtual machine set up/decommission, and Windows 3rd party patching
- Troubleshoot high level system issues related to physical and virtual work stations, applications, and laptops
- Implement and maintain various security controls on all systems
- Respond to ticket requests from internal employees, acting as the escalation point for Windows desktop break fix
- Create, update, and delete AD users and user groups when needed
- Perform health checks of the VDI and take part in disaster recovery testing
- Ensure application and system setups/deployments are well documented
- Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field, or relevant work experience and certifications
- Certifications preferred: MCSA and MCITP
- 2-5 years’ experience of hands-on infrastructure support and troubleshooting in a corporate environment
- Experience working with VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon view or Citrix virtual apps/desktop required
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating system
- Working knowledge of GPO’s, DHCP, DNS, NTFS, and ADDs required
- Experience working within a heavily virtualized environment
- Prior experience with Igel thin clients and PowerShell scripting preferred
- Experience packaging software to distribute to PC/Laptops and Ivanti LanDesk manager desired
- Must be able to operate independently and within a team along with excellent communication skills
